this bug fix needs to be applied on 3.38.3 (bullseye) and 3.36 (focal), upstream includes it with >=3.43

it should be fixed in focal since https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-ews/3.36.5-0ubuntu1.1 , which version did you try?

It is still present in Debian bullseye (3.38.3-1). I created a MR: !4 (merged)
